1986 Nominated for the Italain Davis Cup team for the first time (nominated every year until 1991).
1987 Best ATP ranking #71, Winning the ATP Grand Prix in Bari defeating Aaron Krickstein in the final.
1988 Reached the quarterfinals at the Montecarlo Masters series defeating Mats Wilander (number 1 ATP world champion that year).
1989 Best result in Grand Slams reaching the 3rd round at Roland Garros.
1990 Wins the Italian Championships in Salerno.
1989 – 1993 around ATP 100, winning 4 challengers event and defeating a number of players in the top 10 or 20 (Bruguera, Mancini, Krickstein, K. Carlsson, Cherkasov, Aguilera, Rosset, Boetsch, Camporese, Wheaton respectfully amongst others).
1996 Takao Suzuki of Japan (11 years, achieving many goals).
1996-1997 Worked as a practice partner with Monica Seles (number 1 in the world and the 1996 Australian Open titlist).
1998 worked for a year with Miho Saeki of Japan (started with the WTA ranking #160 and ended #66).
1999-2001 worked with George Bastl from Switzerland and Attila Savolt from Hungary until 2001 (both reached the top 100 starting lower than #200).
1999 worked for 6 months with Ai Sugiyama from Japan (Top 20 player).
2000 worked with Davide Sanguinetti from Italy until his retirement in 2008 (Davide reached many high goals, with a best ranking of ATP #42). ATP Milan titlist (beat Federer in the final) and ATP Delray Beach titlist (beat Roddick in the final) and semi finalist at Queen Club, London.
2001 started coaching Anna Smashnova from Israel until 2004. Started the year 2002 with the WTA ranking of No. 88 and ended 15th in the world. She never went out of the Top 20 for the years 2002, 2003 and the majority of 2004.
2002 coaching for 2 years Mara Santangelo from Italy (reached the WTA ranking of No. 120 at the end of 2003 starting from #350)
1996 – 2002 coach of the Japanese Davis Cup team.
2005 Captain of the tennis team in the Mediterranean Games in Almeria (Spain) – Italy got 2 bronze medals.
2005 Captain of the Italian team in the European Cup in Ceski Krumlov (Czech Rep.) by Tennis Europe – Italy finished 2nd, losing in the final
2006-2009 Simone started with Claudio with the ranking of No. 248 and now is at his best ranking ATP #36 and No. 1 in Italy
2009-2010 Michael Berrer Improvement from Emirates ATP Ranking of No. 125 to No. 42
2010 Andreas Beck Improvement from Emirates ATP Ranking of No. 180 to No. 90
2011 Robin Soderling: coached Robin that reached a career-high No. 4 ATP and won ATP titles in Brisbane, Marseille and Rotterdam, beating respectively Andy Roddick , Wilfred Jo Tsonga and Marin Cilic in the finals .
2012 Daniela Hantuchova: coached Daniela that won WTA title in Pattaya and got to Brisbane final ( beating Kim Clijsters and Dominika Cibulkova) and improved WTA Ranking from No. 24 to No. 17
2013 Claudio worked with Alijaz Bedene who achieved a top 70 ATP Emirates world ranking from 140.
2015 Claudio Founded his own company Claudio Pistolesi Enterprise
Other Professional Experience
1997 – Now Contributor to all the Italian Tennis magazines such as IL TENNIS ITALIANO, MATCH POINT, TENNIS OGGI and also to national daily newspapers (L’UNITA’, IL TEMPO).
2004-2007 – official commentator for MEDIASET, a national channel ITALIA 1, during the Italian Open ATP Masters Series.
2010 he was elected as an ATP coach representative in the ATP Players Council.
2011 Claudio named as director at Scheckprobase (Munich, Germany). www.scheckprobase.com).
2016 Claudio has won the election four times and is currently coach representative until 2018.
Education – attended Liceo Classico Secondary School in Italy and held a Tecnico Nazionale position in the Italian Tennis Federation (4th level) from 2001 until 2009.

Simone started with Claudio with the ranking of No. 248 and now is at his best ranking ATP #36 and No. 1 in Italy
2009 coaching Michael Berrer
Michael started as No. 125 in the ATP rankings and achieved his career best ranking of No. 42 (ATP Zagreb finalist in 2010 and semifinalist in Vienna in 2010)
2011 coaching Robin Soderling
Ranked 5th in the world, as his coach.
In the first 2 months of 2011 Robin won 3 ATP titles (Brisbane, Marseille and Rotterdam) and won 20 out of 21 matches reaching his best ranking position #4 in the world
2012 coaching Daniela Hantuchova
The start of 2012 saw Claudio provide coaching to Slovakian player Daniela Hantuchova. Hantuchova made the final of Brisbane, making the quarter finals in Sydney and winning the WTA event in Pattaya City, Thailand.
